Coronavirus outbreak: B.C. officials mandate shut down of personal service establishments(卑詩官員授權關閉私人護理服務業)

B.C. Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and health minister Adrian Dix provided an update on the province’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Henry issued a new order for the province on March 21, effective on the same date, to shut down all personal service establishments until further notice, such as hair and nail salons, tattoo parlours and spas, in order to help slow the spread of COVID-19.

Previously, she also ordered all restaurants across the province to cease dine-in operations as the province announced 77 new cases of the novel coronavirus, for a new total of 348.

Henry said there are now 22 people in hospital, 10 of them in intensive care.

British Columbia has now recorded nine deaths. Six people have fully recovered.
