China’s Yang Junxuan, Zhang Yufei, Li Bingjie and Tang Muhan broke the world record in the women’s 4×200-metre freestyle relay with a time of seven minutes 40.33 seconds. Canada’s Summer McIntosh, Kayla Sanchez, Rebecca Smith and Penny Oleksiak finished off the Olympic podium in fourth place, despite setting a new Canadian record time of 7:43.77.
