B.C. announces 45 new cases of COVID-19 with 13 now in hospital(卑詩新冠增45例 13例已住院治療)

British Columbia’s provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, and Health Minister Adrian Dix provided an update on the province’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday. As of Wednesday, the province had 45 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the provincial total to 231. Thirteen individuals have been hospitalized and one of the new confirmed cases included a resident of the Haro Centre, a West Vancouver long-term care home. Dix stated that an estimated 17,000 people in B.C. have now been tested for the virus. Henry added that the province is in “extraordinary times” and that the next seven to 10 days will be a critical time to “slow the curve” of virus transmission. She declared a province-wide state of emergency on Tuesday to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
