An unprecedented heatwave has hit Antarctica this month, with temperatures soaring 40 degrees higher than normal in some areas. It’s arrived at the same time as an Arctic heatwave and another coral bleaching event on the Great Barrier Reef. The events have left scientists shocked. Ellen Coulter reports.
